Delighted Students Graduate with Diploma in Theology

20 students, male and female, ranging in age from 21-70 from a wide variety of different professions and backgrounds graduated recently at St. Angela’s College, Sligo with a Diploma in Applied Theology (Pastoral Studies). The Diploma had been offered on a part-time basis at the VTOS centre in Roscommon Town and marks the first completion of this program away from the College Campus in Sligo.

Responding to the current changing cultural and religious situation, this Diploma is for those who seek to know more about the spiritual and religious side of life, people who want to deepen their knowledge of Christian faith and practice or people already involved in or taking up positions of responsibility or ministry in local faith or parish communities.

Participants from Sligo, Roscommon, Longford, Galway and Westmeath gathering for the graduation ceremony gave the program a resounding recommendation. “We have had a wonderful experience, I’ve learned a lot, been enriched by the group and had lots of fun in the process – come to think about it”, said Olivia Kelly from Sligo. “I never realized the richness of faith and the Christian Tradition – this course has been the best thing I have done for years”, was Eillen Connell’s Judgment from Granard, Co. Longford.

The course is currently in its second year on an out-reach basis in Letterkenny and has just begun at the St. Angela’s College Campus in Sligo. Further Information can be had by contacting the College.
