Elphin Diocese's 12th Annual Pastoral Ministry Gathering

11th Annual Gathering & In-service for Parish Pastoral Council Members

Lay representatives and clergy from every parish in the Elphin diocese have been invited to gather in The Shannon Key West Hotel, Roosky on Saturday October 15th for the diocese's 11th annual Pastoral Ministry Gathering.   

This year's guest presenter is retired Bishop of Limerick, Donal Murray, who will speak on the theme of next year's Eucharistic Congress  "Communion with Christ and with one another". 

Five delegates are invited from each parish.  

The programme for the day is as follows:

09.30 am:  Registration / Tea & Coffee

09.45 am: Music & Song from Andrew Reynolds & friends

10.00 am:  Word of Welcome (Bishop Jones)

10.10 am:  Morning Prayer

10.20 am:  Bishop Donal Murray (1st input)

11.10 am:  Discussion / Questions and Answers

11.20 am:  Stretch-break concluding with a song from Andrew & friends

11.30 am:  Bishop Donal Murray (2nd input)

12.20 pm:  Discussion / Questions and Answers

12.45 pm:  Lunch (choice of main courses, dessert & tea or coffee)

02.00 pm:  Music & Song from Andrew Reynolds & Friends

02.10 pm: Eucharistic Congress 2012                    Input on what is proposed etc. and launch of diocesan competitions for Primary & Post Primary School students

02.40 pm    Delegates invited to sit in groups with PPC representatives from other parishes in their cluster and to discuss two questions arising from Bishop Murray’s inputs (questions to be connected with the mission of each Parish Pastoral Council)

03.10 pm: Feedback from Groups to Gathering

03.30 pm: Response to feedback  (Bishop Murray)

03.45 pm:  Expression of thanks & appreciation

03.45 pm:  Closing Prayer Service

03.55 pm:  Evaluation Exercise

04.00 pm:  Gathering Concludes
